ABOUT CHRIS

For more than 20 years, I have been a private tutor, specializing in ACT/SAT test prep, math, and essay writing for students 8th grade and up. I also offer a high school academic homeschooling curriculum.

I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from University of Oregon and have a Masters degree from Ohio State University. After working a number of years in business systems management, I retired to raise a family.

I have always loved education, and in the process of helping my own children through school, I discovered my passion for tutoring. It's so rewarding to see students excel, especially in subjects they never believed they could understand.

I seek to create a fun and positive environment where my students feel supported in their learning. Open communication and building personal relationships where students are comfortable asking questions and learning from their mistakes is most important to me. My students very quickly see improvement in their achievements as well as self-image.

There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to education. Each student is unique in terms of learning style. My aim is to simplify even the most difficult concepts, taking out the confusing general theory and vocabulary so students can easily get the answers.

With individualized support, every student can reach his/her full potential. Whether you're gearing up for one test or ready to rock the entire year, let me help you achieve your goals!
